Donate to the Library

Friends of the C.H. Booth Library

A core group of about 25 devoted volunteers who are more like a club of book lovers. They enjoy each others' company and are proud of their service to the library. This group meets twice a week to select, categorize, alphabetize and store books, tapes, CD’s, etc. When time comes around for the annual book sale, the volunteer force expands to over 100. Their last sale included over 120,000 items.

Membership dues and book sale revenues allow the Friends to greatly enhance the collections in each department of the library. The Friends also sponsor a number of adult and children's programs at the library. You play an important role in making the C.H. Booth Library one of the best in Connecticut. We need your help – please call Pete at 203-426-4041 for Friends' volunteer opportunities. (Additional information is available by clicking on "Book Sale Volunteers" under "Services" in the column to the left.)

Do you have books or materials you would like to donate? Donations are accepted during library hours. The Friends' Donation Cart is located just inside the side sliding doors from the back parking lot. Please call ahead (203-270-4537) if you will need help unloading your car. Tax receipts are available upon request.

In addition to books, the Booksale welcomes CD's, DVD's, computer software, puzzles, vinyl records, magazine- format publications like Cooks Illustrated, Threads, Fine Woodworking, Kids Discover, etc, and vintage magazines (5o years old or older) in good condition.

Please note: The Booksale can not accept computer hardware, Reader's Digest condensed books, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, or mass-market magazines (e.g. National geographic, People, Sports Illustrated, etc.)

Be sure to visit www.boothbooksale.org  for up-to-date information about exciting book-purchasing and donation events, as well as new limited-time special offers.
