Calling all Makers!
The chbMAKERS’ Corner is now open by appointment.
Use this form to book time with our maker equipment, or call the YA Department at 203-426-4533 ext. 31, or email us at email@example.com. Equipment available to reserve includes a Cricut Explore Air 2 die cutter, button makers, sewing machines, a laminator, and a VHS/vinyl record to digital converter.
You can make an appointment for training or assistance, or just book time to use the equipment independently. If this is your first time visiting the chbMAKERS’ Corner, you will be expected to fill out a chbMAKERS’ Agreement form before using the equipment.
3D Print at the chbMAKERS’ Corner
Use of the 3D printer is done by library staff. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the 3D model in .stl file format and your desired filament color, and we’ll let you know when you can pick up your print. If you’d like to learn how to find or design items to print, or you’re just curious about how it works, contact us to set up a training appointment. We currently use a Lulzbot Mini 2 3D printer that prints with PLA filament.
Currently available PLA filament colors: Blue, Purple, Black, Red, Gray, Green, White, Orange, Yellow.
This service is free. Individuals are limited to 3 hours of print time per week. Your print may be resized to fit this time limit. If your design must be resized, library staff will let you know before printing.
To find ready-to-print files to print, try Thingiverse.com. You can find all sorts of fun things to print online, from key chains to household tools.
To try to design your own 3D models, try TinkerCAD. TinkerCAD is free and offers tutorials to get you started.
Library staff are unable to assist with the designing of 3D models. The library is not responsible for the quality of your design.
