Calling all young adults! Stop by the library this month to check out a good book, play games, or just hang out! While you’re here, check out what’s happening in the YA department – we have fun & informative programs for all, and we’re always offering something new!

Programs for Young Adults
All programs are for young adults in Grades 6-12 unless otherwise noted.

Teen Crafternoon
Tuesdays at 4pm in the chbMAKERS’ Corner

Join us in the chbMAKERS’ Corner to make crafts, chill out, and learn some DIY skills. We’re especially excited to learn origami on January 21 with instructor Fran Block! All materials provided.

Learn to Program in Virtual Reality with Happy Code Club
Tuesday, January 14 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the Library Meeting Room

For grades 5-9. Happy Code Club Presents: Introduction to Virtual Reality; a mini-course that introduces students to the basics of building virtual reality worlds using HTML and the A-Frame JavaScript Library. Through this course, students will build their own virtual reality worlds that are compatible with VR devices, including smartphone VR headsets! No programming experience required. Registration required.
DIY Herbal Perfume for Teens
Tuesday, February 18 from 4:00 to 5:15pm in the chbMAKERS Corner

Join the team from Grounded Goodwife in this perfume-making workshop. Experiment with base fragrances, mid-tones, and top notes.
Create your own signature scent, mad scientist style! Registration required.

Young Adult Council

If you’re a young adult in grades 6-12, consider joining the library’s Young Adult Council. The Young Adult Council (YAC) meets once a month to plan programs, make book displays and crafts, and more! Our next meeting is on Monday, January 27 at 4pm.
